Established in 2016, Ataya is a restaurant that serves vegan Afro-Italian food in a quiet little street in Prenzlauer Berg. The founders, the lovely Elisabetta and Bachir, called their restaurant after the Senegalese tea ceremony, and just like this ritual their eatery it is all about conviviality. That’s why Ataya is a no WiFi, no Laptop restaurant, where you can relax and connect with your loved ones and maybe even make some new friends. In this cozy living room style place, there are plenty of books and sunshine and no plastic in sight. Ataya’s menu is packed with flavourful dishes like their tasty African bowl and the comforting ravioli. Elisabetta is an experienced chef and it shows: at Ataya the food is original, fresh and most importantly utterly delicious. On Sundays they serve only their special brunch, which is extremely popular, so do not forget to book a table if you want to spend some time in this lovely restaurant and taste some spectacular food.

Berlin was already heaven for vegans but its cruelty-free culinary scene got even better when in February 2019 this plant-based Korean restaurant was opened near Kollwitzplatz. Their menu is filled to the brim with fun, colourful drinks and amazing vegan versions of traditional Korean dishes that are fresh, comforting and bursting with flavour. You should try the Bibimbap with soy strips and avocado pancake and the Kim bowl. Also, do not miss out on the side dishes, they are spectacular too. The staff is incredibly professional and helpful; they really know how to make you feel welcomed in this tastefully decorated restaurant. The perfect place chill out after a long day!

 

La Stella Nera
Leykestraße 18, 12053 – Neukölln

A vegan restaurant offering thin-crust Neapolitan pizza cooked in a wood-fire oven and other Italian dishes, La Stella Nera was established in 2016 in Neukölln. The dough is perfect, light-weight and fragrant; you can choose from many original and delicious topping, you will want to try them all! You will have to book a table, especially if you plan on eating inside the restaurant, but it’s totally worth it. Bonus tip, if you go there on a sunny day, take a little walk and enjoy your pizza at Tempelhofer Feld, a big and beloved Volkspark (public park) that used to be an airfield.
